Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist cum Payroll Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This dual-role position involves managing day-to-day HR operations, providing support across various HR functions, and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of HR practices, Singapore's employment laws, and payroll systems.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Employee Lifecycle Management:

  • Support end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Manage applications and renewals for Employment Passes, Dependent Passes, and Work Passes, as needed.
  • Draft and issue HR-related letters (e.g., exit letters, employment verification, salary adjustment letters, promotion letters).
  • Maintain and update employee records, including HR personnel files, ensuring all supporting documents are securely stored and well-organized.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Address employee relations issues professionally, fostering a positive workplace environment.
  • Organize employee engagement and team-building events to foster an engaged and motivated workforce.

HR Program Management:

  • Coordinate and implement HR initiatives, including goal setting, performance reviews, training, and compensation planning.
  • Review market trends and benchmark employee benefits to ensure competitiveness.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure HR practices comply with Singapore's employment laws and internal company policies.
  • Prepare HR reports and analytics for management decision-making.

Vendor Management:

  • Liaise with external vendors (e.g., insurance brokers, leave management providers) to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Handle miscellaneous tasks such as processing employee claims and other assignments as directed.

Payroll Duties:

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time, including allowances, bonuses, and statutory deductions.
  • Coordinate with payroll vendors to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Maintain payroll records and documentation in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Reconcile payroll data with relevant teams for accurate and timely disbursement.
  • Manage statutory payroll filings to ensure compliance with local labor and tax regulations.
  • Address and resolve employee payroll-related queries and discrepancies promptly.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in HR and payroll functions.
  • Solid understanding of HR best practices and payroll processing.
  • Familiarity with Singapore's labor laws and statutory compliance.
  • Strong Excel skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, small-team environment with a hands-on approach.
  • Proactive approach, with a willingness to challenge the status quo and identify opportunities for process improvement to ensure efficiency and alignment with local regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in campus recruitment and university partnerships is a plus.
  • Proficiency in payroll software is an advantage.
